Covenant City FAQ
General
Covenant City is a church plant of Christ City Church in Richmond, BC. We are preparing to launch as a local church community in September 2026.
Covenant City gathers at 8151 Bennett Road in Richmond, BC.
Our mission is to be a gospel-formed community, sending out Christ-like disciples for the flourishing of the city and beyond. Our vision is to see gospel-centered churches co-labouring for gospel renewal.
Covenant City is a gospel-centered Christian church in Richmond. We are committed to historic Christian faith, the authority of Scripture, and a gospel culture marked by humility, kindness, dependence on God, and courageous obedience.
Covenant City is affiliated with the Redeemer City to City network and the British Columbia Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches.
We believe faithful gospel doctrine and healthy gospel culture belong together. Our beliefs are rooted in historic Christian orthodoxy and the authority of Scripture, as articulated by the Apostles’ and Nicene Creeds and our statement of faith. Our distinctives include reformed soteriology, continuationist pneumatology, and a missional ecclesiology. Our values reflect the gospel culture we are committed to cultivating: centered on the gospel, dependent on God and each other, putting others first in humility, clothed with Christ’s kindness, and courageous in following God’s leading.
Our preaching is anchored in the conviction that Scripture, as the revealed Word of God, is the ultimate authority for all Christian life and practice. This approach can be described as expositional preaching, where the preacher seeks to explain what is in the biblical text and show how Christ is the final fulfillment of the text’s theme.

Sundays
Covenant City’s Sunday gathering begins at 9:30 AM.
When you arrive, there will be fresh coffee available in the lobby. Arrive a few minutes early so you can grab a coffee, say hi to someone, find a seat, and get comfortable. If you have children aged 0–10, you can head to our Kids Ministry and Nursery area, where our Kids Ministry Team can help you with check-in. Kids are dismissed just before the sermon, so bring the whole family into the main gathering room for the start of the gathering. A typical gathering includes songs led by a band, prayer, Scripture reading, a sermon, and communion. Those exploring faith, new to church, or simply observing are most welcome, and no one is asked to do or say anything they are not comfortable with. You are welcome to listen, observe, and participate only as you feel comfortable. We also have a Connect Desk at the back of the Main Gathering Room and friendly volunteers ready to answer any questions you might have.
A typical Sunday gathering is about 70 minutes long. Sermons are usually 30–40 minutes.
Wear whatever you’re comfortable in. There are no dress requirements for joining our Sunday gathering.
