Our Plans for the Fall

Our September launch is now just around the corner! We’re so thankful for the Lord’s gracious provision so far, and are looking forward to beginning our life together as a new church community. Here are some of our planned church rhythms for the Fall. 

Soft-Launch Gatherings – September 6 and 13 at 9:30 A.M.
We will be having two soft-launch gatherings to help our service teams prepare for our launch Sunday. These will be full Sunday gatherings where we will worship God together in song, prayer, preaching, and communion. There will also be Kids Ministry for kids up to Grade 5! 

Worship and Prayer Night - September 15 at 7:00 P.M. 
We will be having a Week of Fasting and Prayer in the week leading up the launch Sunday. We will send out a different prayer focus for each day, and will have a Worship and Prayer Night on September 15 at 7:00 P.M. at 8151 Bennett Road.

Launch Sunday – September 20 at 9:30 A.M.  
September 20 will be Covenant City's official first Sunday gathering as a church community. We will also be beginning our sermon series in Philippians. Written by the apostle Paul to the church he helped plant in Philippi, this letter has much to teach us about living as Christians and as a new church community.  

Community Bible Nights – Tuesday evenings in October and November
The aim of our Community Bible Nights is to build our church community around God's Word. Sam will be leading the sessions, and they will be a mix of studying Scripture, learning practical Bible reading skills, reflecting on application, and praying for each other. Everyone is invited to join!     

Church Prayer Meetings – First Sunday of every month  
We want prayer to continue to be our church's foundation, and so we'll be having the prayer meetings after the Sunday gatherings to make it as easy as possible for people to join. We will be sending out more details in the weeks to come. 

Men’s Retreat – October 16-18  
We are joining with the men from other churches in the Christ City family for a weekend in Rockridge Canyon to connect, build brotherhood, relax, worship, and be encouraged through time in God's Word. There are a variety of accommodation options available, and all the men of Covenant City are invited to join.
